Bendigamos 03:15

about

Acoustic Nomads was always envisioned as a collective, more than the sum of its members. In "The Abominable Stringband Vol. 1" this vision is fully realized.

During a frenzied week of musical activity from May 20th-26th, 2021, our band lived together in a studio called The Great North Sound Society in Parsonsfield, Maine. There we recorded 19 brand new songs, all written or arranged by our musicians for the group.

Two albums have coalesced out of that marathon recording session, the first of which you have before you, "The Abominable Stringband Volume 1."

We are very proud of the playing, the writing, and the musical cohesion we achieved with this record, and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it!

Special thanks to our friends, our families, our loved ones, and our communities for supporting us through these difficult years, and to our musicians for being so courageous, open, and trusting. Music cannot exist without patience and vulnerability, and you delivered more than we ever expected.

Lastly, we are eternally grateful to you, dear listener, for taking a chance on new music. It is small acts of courage and generosity like yours that will allow all 7 billion of us on Earth, bit by bit, to emerge into a new world entirely of our choosing.
